Corona Measures Apply Thailand
Bangkok, May 2021:Â Thailand has faced a stronger growth in infection rates. Plans to open part of the country by 1 July 2021 for vaccinated tourists might not reach the set goal and the announcement that was made to offer free vaccination of foreigners might be rolled back.
Provinces that face restricted control as part of the corona measures are Bangkok, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan, a total of 6 provinces.
Any gathering or event of over 20 persons has been prohibited, except those who are permitted by the authorities or organised in the quarantine zones, where official disease control measures issued by the provincial disease control committee.
Food and alcohol onsite have been prohibited and food takeaways apply until 9 PM. Sports venues must be closed except for private use. The use for national athletes, relief efforts, government sector or public good is allowed with the authorisation from the Governor. Other areas for practising can open until 9 PM.
Stricter Corona Measures
Travel to other provinces is not recommended and consumptions of alcohol have been prohibited in 46 provinces as part of the corona measures. No promotion activities can take place at the shopping centres. Shopping centres can open with a limited number of visitors until 9 PM. Game arcades and other attractions must stay closed. The 24-hour stores can remain open until 4 AM while others must close at 11 PM.
The authorities further ask cooperation from the corporate sector to consider implementing remote work for workers for the next coming 14 days to reduce the risk of infections.
